David William Nelson, 63, of Rock Island, IL, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, IA. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Q.C. Paws, Milan, IL. David William Nelson was born December 1, 1953, in Estherville, IA, the son of Harry and Betty Hermanson Nelson. He married Debra Howard in 1973. He later married Teresa Schultz on October 4, 1999 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. David was the owner and operator of Nelson Trucking Services, Rock Island and he worked in car sales for many years. In earlier years, David enjoyed driving an ambulance and doing carpentry work. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. David is survived by his wife Teresa; daughters Jessica (Frederick) Jaehnke, Hoffman Estates, IL and Christine (Kris) Rowand, Fort Worth, TX; his son Jason (Rhea) Nelson of Rock Island; Grandchildren; Graham Jaehnke, Everly Jaehnke, Jaxson Rowand and Ayden Rowand and his brother Denny (Joan) Nelson, Coal Valley, IL.
