David E. Nolen , 40, of Moline, IL, passed away October 14, 2024 in East Moline, IL.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 28th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Cremation will be accorded following services. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27th, at the funeral home.

David was born May 29, 1984, in Moline, a son of Mark and Julie (Lane) Nolen. He graduated from Moline High School, Class of 2002.

Truck driving was his profession and he most recently worked for Ty's Tree & Lawn, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

David was mechanically inclined and could fix anything. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, campfires, fireworks, and just being outside. He was an excellent cook. David loved and adored his children, and will be fondly remembered as the "fun" brother and uncle.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, David Matthew Nolen, Jacob Ryan Nolen, Aiden Jeremy Nolen, and Jase Eugene Nolen; granddaughter, Noralynn Kay Nolen; mother, Julie Nolen; father and stepmother, Mark and Shari Nolen; brother, Ryan Nolen, brother and sister-in-law, Jeremy and Meagan Nolen; nieces and nephews, Jordan V. Nolen, Ryan D. Nolen, Kaedyn J. Nolen, Kazimiera K. Nolen; uncles and aunts, Jerry Lane, David Lane, Rev. David (Carolyn) Nolen, Bob Nolen, Deborah Chokkalingam, Jane Nolen-Johnson, and Kathy (Wayne) Prien; numerous cousins, other family, and best friend, Scott Calhoun.

David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Theodore and Marilyn Lane; paternal grandparents, Roy and Phyllis Nolen; niece, Bailee Jo Nolen; and cousins, Bobby Nolen and Jason Scott.
