David Lowell Penderson Sr., 77, of Hampton, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.  Inurnment will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military honors.  Memorials may be made to the family.

David was born on January 11, 1948, in Moline, the son of Lowell "Jack" and Margerie (Pierce) Penderson.  David was a proud veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.  He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and went on to work at John Deere & Co. as a painter.  David was an avid University of Illinois and Chicago Bears fan.  He enjoyed watching drag racing and anything Ford.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially watching them play sports.

David is survived by his wife, Shelley Penderson; daughter, Sandi (Dan) Clark, Coal Valley; son, David L. Penderson Jr., Colona; 7 grandchildren; and one great grandson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stacey Penderson; and sister Janet Westmoreland.
