David L. Schell , 73, of East Moline, IL, passed away December 1, 2024, at Celebrate of Moline, Moline, IL. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, from 4-6 PM.

David was born January 26, 1951, in Moline, the son of Herbert L. and Bernice B. Sheppard Schell. He was a graduate of Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. He married Judith A. Denhart July 12, 1980. She passed away July 1, 2014.

He was a produce manager for Geifman's but retired from Atlas Roofing as a machine operator.

David enjoyed woodworking, camping, gardening and making wine.

Survivors include his stepchildren, Robert Petty, Glenwood, GA, Susan (Dave) Patterson, Matherville, IL, and Steve (Michelle) Petty, Silvis, IL; grandchildren, Colten, Kristen, Elizabeth (Joey), Rebecca (Shae), Alexis (Nick), Abbey (Chase), and Ryan; six great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gloria Schell, East Moline, IL; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Richard Schell, Janet (Stanley) Tricky, and Barbara (Bill) Teichman.
