Funeral services for David R. Terronez, 90, Moline, are 10 AM Friday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the VFW 8890 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 3-7 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. A memorial fund has been established. David died Monday, December 14, 2009 at his home. He was born June 26, 1919 in Silvis, the son of Felipe and Albina (Rivera) Terronez. He married Rose Ponciano on August 26, 1950 in Silvis. He had worked as a lineman on the former Rock Island Lines, an instrumental repairman at the Rock Island Arsenal, at the QC Downs and as a jeweler at Josephson's Jewelers. David was a certified watchmaker. He was a lifetime member of the East Moline VFW 8890. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Rose, children and spouses; Christine and Phillip DeMink of Tipp City, Ohio, Gilbert and Juanita Terronez, Moline, Celia and Rick Riesebieter, Coal Valley, Kathleen and Ed Johnson, Garden Grove, CA, Marguerite Terronez, Moline, Maria Escontrias, Bettendorf, Raphael "Ray" Terronez, Rock Island, Andrew Terronez, Moline and Benedict Terronez, Moline, twenty grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brothers; John, East Moline, Albert (Victoria), East Moline, and sisters Alice Gamino, Silvis, Lupe Terronez, Chicago and Cecilia (Don) Raischel, Moline. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter Jennifer and brothers Anthony and Frank. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
