Memorial services for David J. "Dave" VanBruwaene 63, of Moline, IL, will be 11:00 am Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 9:00 am until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. VanBruwaene died Thursday at his home. Dave was born October 3, 1954, in Moline, IL, the son of Robert and Lorraine Rasmussen VanBruwaene. He married Mary Harris July 13, 1974, in Rock Island, IL. He drove for Metrolink and the Isle of Capri Casino. Dave was a devoted dad and grandpa who had a close relationship with his brother, Bob. He was an accomplished pool player and was a Chicago sports teams fan. Survivors include his children, David VanBruwaene, Janesville, WI, Laurie (Tony) Mickley, Morrison, IL, Patty (Joel) Rose, Davenport, IA, and Bryan VanBruwaene, Moline; and granddaughter, Kate Mickley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert VanBruwaene. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
