David Douglas Zumaris, 87, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, at his residence.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

David was born on May 22, 1939, in Moline, the son of Anthony and Antoinette (Krol) Zumaris. He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Army. David was employed as a police officer on Arsenal Island, Rock Island. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, motorcycle racing, and playing Euchre with friends and family.

David is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Robert) Guile; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Phillip (Paula) Zumaris; and his nephew, Douglas (Molly) Zumaris. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Barbara Struve.
