Dean Ray Lawson Sr., 58, of Moline, passed away January 5, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Visitation will be from 3-6PM Monday January 9, 2017 at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd in East Moline. Funeral services will be at 6:00PM following visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the funeral and a private burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island, at a later date. Dean was born February 3, 1958 in Moline a son of Gilbert and Janis (Clayton) Lawson. He married Crystal Dreier on June 2, 1990 in Davenport, IA. Before becoming ill, Dean was lifelong roofer and welder. He enjoyed stock car racing, morel mushroom hunting, and being outdoors. He especially loved his grandkids, family, fishing, camping, boating and generally just being on the river. He also was a lifelong avid collector of Eagle statuary. Dean is survived by: his wife, Crystal, 7-children, Michael Shane Lawson, Jesse Dean McCarthy, Joshua John Hutter, Heather Kay Austin, Charles Richard Sedam, Nathan Robert Sedam, Dean Ray "Bubba" Lawson Jr.; 10 grandchildren, Ronin, Cohen, Raine, Tatum, Kamya, Obera, Klarissa, Jaylissa, Lilliana, and Juliet; his dad and mom, Gilbert Eugene Sr. and Jeanie Lawson; siblings: Gilbert Eugene Lawson Jr., Tammy Larie Lawson, Sam Lawson, and Wendy (Doug) Stevens; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Janis, and his niece, Gracie Gross.
