Dean E. Stang, 74, Rock Island, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Heartland Health Care, Moline. Visitation is 9:30-11AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Graveside services are 11:30 Thursday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Dean was born May 22, 1936 in Moline, the son of Ernest and Alice (DeRycke) Stang. He served in the US Army. He retired in 1992 as a Foreman from International Harvester Farmall, Rock Island. Dean enjoyed taking care of his plants and doing puzzles. Survivors include brothers Duane, East Moline and Dave of Cincinnati, OH and numerous nieces and nephews and and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Juanita.
