Debbie Hicks was born on September 13, 1971 to Sam and Katie Hicks. She was raised by Katie Hicks and Eddie Nichols. She was called home by the Lord on February 20, 2015. Funeral services are 11:00 AM Thursday at 3rd Missionary Baptist Church, Davenport with the Rev. Rogers Kirk officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Private family committal is in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Debbie was a loving and devoted mother to her only child, son, Leondae Holt. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, cheering the Green Bay Packers and spending time with family and friends and to all who knew her, she brought love and laughter. Debbie was a giving and compassionate person who always helped anyone in need. She loved life and all its rewards. She is survived by her son, Leondae Holt, Mother and Father Katie Hicks and Eddie Nichols; brothers: Edward Dixon Sr., Steven Hicks, Samuel Hicks, Nat Nichols; sisters: Marshell Baker, Ronna Hicks, Valarie Hicks; Aunts /Uncles: Pearl Cooper, Adell(James) Jones, Roberta (Cornell) Davis, Judy Payne, Willie (Leona) Dixon, Will (Clara) Dixon, Ruthie (Oscar) Dixon, Georgia (Roy) Scott, Frances Hicks, James Hicks, Mattie Hicks, Mary Ann Hicks, Alice Hicks, Helen Hicks, Felix Hicks, John Hicks, Benjamin Hicks and Jesse Hicks. A host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents Bud and Hermice Dixon, Bennie Mae and Sam Hicks and a brother Elzon Walker.
