Debra S. "Debbie" Nevarez, 64, of Moline passed away Friday October 13, 2017 at UnityPoint – Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island. Memorial Mass will be 11:30AM Thursday October 19, 2017 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in East Moline. Visitation will be 5-7PM Wednesday October 18, 2017 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., in East Moline. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. Debbie was born March 21, 1953 in Moline, a daughter of Ireta Watson. She graduated from Moline High School, class of 1971, and later married Albert Nevarez Jr. on September 22, 1973 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in East Moline. She worked as a secretary for various real estate agencies in the Quad-Cities area, and later worked as a manger for Jewel-Osco in Moline. Being a devoted grandmother, she brought 2 of her grandchildren to work with her for a couple years. She enjoyed making jewelry, crafts, quilting and playing Bingo. She was known for making special home-made gifts for her family every year. She loved her family very much, attended all her grandkids sporting events, and receiving manicures with her granddaughter. In 2004, she was diagnosed with a rare disease called Saocoidosis of the spine and bones, and fought valiantly until her passing. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in East Moline. Debbie is survived by her husband, Albert Jr., of Moline; 2 children: Jennifer Nevarez and Nicole (James) Lewis both of Moline; her special adopted daughter: Sherry Orozco of Bettendorf; 3 grandchildren: Adrianna, Shawn and Jordan all at home; 2 sisters: Marcia Alexander of Moline; and Sandy (Larry) Bull of Aledo; her sister-in-law: Rosie (Larry) Lawver of Moline; one nephew and several nieces. She was proceeded in death by her brother, mother, step-dad Doc Watson, her best friend Ada Anderson, and her grandmother who raised her, Doris.
