Delfina M. Saucedo, 75, East Moline, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at her home, after a courageous battle with pancriatic cancer. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 3-7PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. A rosary will be recited in English at 2PM and a rosary in Spanish will be recited at the conclusion of the visitation. A memorial fund has been established. Delfina Moreno was born on December 22, 1938 in Loreto Zacat, Mexico, the daughter of Jose and Consuelo Vargas Moreno. She married Alejandro Saucedo in 1958. Delfina had worked as the lead chef for the Migrant Worker Program for many years. Mrs. Saucedo was a devoted member of her church, having been a 30 years member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline and currently at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Delfina was a self taught seamstress and, a magnificent cook, and loved to dance. She is survived by her husband, Alejandro, children, Roberto Saucedo, East Moline, Armando Saucedo, East Moline, Anna (Jesus) Cardoza, Muscatine, IA and Chocos (Troy) Tapia, East Moline, nine grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and siblings, Cruz Moreno and Jose Moreno, both of Laredo, TX and Josefa "Nena" Balderas, San Antonio, TX.
