Delmon L. Wates, 76, Milan, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Delmon was born on May 28, 1939 in Kentucky, the son of Del and Hazel Wates. He retired from the Walmart Distribution Center in Rochelle, IL. Del enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking out, and cars. Most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. He served in the US Army. Survivors include his children, Jason Wates, Matherville, IL, Chris Wates, Milan and Tawny Blake, Elk Grove, CA, six grandchildren and siblings, Philip of Geneseo, Don and Gary both of Moline, David of Kewanee, and Margaret of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul and sister Norma.
