Demos C. Mekus, 66, East Moline, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Select Hospital, Madison, WI. Funeral services are 10 AM Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline, with Fr. Thomas Alatzakis officiating. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 5-7PM Monday at the funeral home, where a Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, where he was a member. Demos was born on December 2, 1950 in Moline, the son of Charles and Dinna (Velon) Mekus. He married Linda Schinckel on July 9, 1988 in East Moline. Mr. Mekus retired in 2001 as a Layout Inspector from the Former International Harvester. He enjoyed taking walks with Linda, playing cards and watching the History Channel. Survivors include his wife Linda, son Denny (Molly) Mekus, Davenport, grandchildren, Mia and Max and brother Chris (Susan) Mekus, East Moline.
