Services for Denise D. Martel, 51, of Parker, CO, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday August 28, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. East Moline, with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. A Memorial service was held Saturday August 25, 2007 at Ave Maria Catholic Church, Parker, CO. Ms. Martel died Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at her home surrounded by family and friends after a lengthy and courageous battle against cancer. Denise was born June 12, 1956, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Paul and Vicky Martel. Denise was fond of her two golden retrievers (Jake and Jasmine) and also NASCAR racing. Survivors include her spouse, Jerry Jeffords, Parker, CO; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Tania Hogan, Lakewood, CO; her stepsons Trent Jeffords, Ft. Collins, CO; Wade Jeffords, Denver, CO; Shawn Jeffords, Denver, CO; Dane Jeffords, Denver, CO; her sister, Anita Burke, San Antonio, TX; her brothers Andy Martel, Rock Island, IL; Dan Martel, Orlando, FL; Marsh Martel, East Moline, IL; Jim Martel, East Moline, IL; Joe Martel, East Moline, IL; Stan Martel, Aurora, CO; Matt Martel, Moline, IL; Reuben Martel, East Moline, IL; Paul Martel Jr., West Palm Beach, FL; Micah Martel, Denver, CO; many nieces and nephews, and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Vicky, and her brothers Bob and Donny.
