Funeral services for Denise I Perkins, 56, Silvis, are 10 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Private entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Denise died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or to St. Jude's. There is no visitation. Denise VanTieghem was born April 20, 1951 in Moline, the daughter of Julius and Martha (DeVos) VanTieghem. She graduated from United Township High School. Denise worked various jobs and most recently at the QC Downs, East Moline. She was very fond of her pets and loved watching NASCAR on TV. Survivors include her mother Martha VanTieghem, Silvis, brother and sister-in-law Denny and Nancy VanTieghem, Silvis, sister-in-law Marilyn VanTieghem, Moline, aunts; Josephine DeVos, East Moline and Jeanette Nagel, El Cahon, CA, five nieces and 9 great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Julius and brothers Duane and David. The family would like to thank Parkview Terrace and Beacon of Hope Hospice for their wonderful care.
