Funeral services for Dennis "Denny" Lorenz, 81, of Hampton, IL, will be 11 AM Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the funeral home. Mr Lorenz passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Genesis Silvis.

Denny was born September 14, 1942, in Moline, IL, the son of Edward and Fern Newton Lorenz. He married Marion Calsyn January 15, 1966, in Rock Island. He retired from John Deere Plow Planter in 1992 after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Marion; children, Marcia Phillips, Anchor, IL, Diana (Kent) Angell, Cedarville, IL, and Mark Jacobs, Moline; 6 grandchildren, Patrick (Heather) Phillips, Jennifer (Jeremy) Harnish, Holly (Jack) Rutherford, Amber (Chase) Koke, Brittany Angell, and Ryan Angell; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Cheryl Kouski, Port Byron, IL and a niece, Lee Kouski.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Richard Phillips and brother-in-law, Paul Kouski and nephew, Greg Kouski.

Denny was very active in UAW Local 434 union assisting with serving at the monthly luncheons. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, gardening and camping. One of his favorite places to be was his cabin on the lake where he could be found riding the Gator and visiting neighbors. He also had a love for animals which included his beloved rescue Silky Terrier Bella.
