Denny was born November 4, 1943, in Hibbing, MN, the son of John and Marian Davis Meyer. He married Rosalie "Rosie" Carmack October 26, 1963, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, IL.
Denny was a 1961 graduate of United Township High School, East Moline. After high school, he served an electrical apprenticeship with IBEW Local 145. In 1972, he became co-owner of Farlow Electric Company Inc. and M&K Realty East Moline. He served as President of the Quad Cities Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association for 12 Years. Denny was a longtime member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Midwest Corvette Club, and the Alleman Booster Club.
Family was always first to Denny, especially with his love for his grandkids. Known as the original "MacGyver", he could fix anything! He had a passion for all things with wheels, from little red wagons to Corvettes. His interests included snowmobiling with his boys, motorsports, and NASCAR racing. He attended the Indianapolis 500 time trials for 30+ years. Denny also enjoyed traveling with Rosie, camping, and the New York Yankees.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie; sons, Mark (Molly) Meyer, Minnetrista, MN, Matthew Meyer, Racine, WI, and Jason (Kathy) Meyer, Moline, IL; grandchildren, Nick, Fritz, Ben, Lauren, Emily, Megan, and Collin; his brother, Larry (Carol) Meyer, Geneseo, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Zachary Meyer; and niece, Cheryl Wulf.
In addition, we would like to thank the caregivers and therapists at Hope Creek and niece Kelly Wilson for their compassionate care.
