Dixie L. Burgess , 78, of East Moline, IL, passed away August 8, 2025, at her home in East Moline.

Dixie's family will host a memorial service in her honor 12:00 p.m. (noon) Tuesday, August 26th, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, East Moline, with visitation one hour prior to services from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon). A luncheon will follow the service at the church for family and friends.

Dixie was born June 1, 1947, in Rock Island, a daughter of Harry and Mary (Kunkel) Talbot. She married Gerald "Jerry" L. Burgess.

She was a devoted member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church, East Moline.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Jerry; daughter, Theresa (Kurt) McMeen; sons, Daniel Harris and Steve Harris; grandchildren, Larry McMeen, Dorey Colbrese, Daniel Lee Harris, Nathaniel Harris, William Harris, Jennifer Donald Harris, and Amanda McMeen; many great grandchildren; mother, Mary Talbot, Moline; siblings, Mary Ann Vogelsang, Gary Talbot and Rodney Talbot; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and other family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Harris; father, Harry; brother-in-law, Greg Vogelsang; and sister-in-law, Patricia Talbot.
