Don R. Bartrom, 80, of Moline, passed away Thursday January 10, 2019 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday January 15, 2019 from 4-6PM at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., in East Moline where memorials may be made to the LIVESTRONG program in care of Two River's YMCA in Moline. A private inurnment service at National Cemetery, Rock Island, will be held at a later date.

Don was born April 24, 1938 in Moline to Donald R. and Lucille (Ulveck) Bartrom Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959, and later married Joyce Stogsdill, June 12, 1965 in Moline.

Mr. Bartrom worked for the Painter's Union Local #502 for 44 years until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed fishing with his friend Bob at the Millers, and traveling, especially to Hawaii. He loved going to the Two River's YMCA in Moline every week, and greatly enjoyed his friends and the company there.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, daughter: Tonya Bartrom-Fried and her husband, Dr. Richard Fried of Bettendorf; a brother-in-law: Jerry Stogsdill and his wife Carol, of Coal Valley, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
