Funeral services for Donald W. Dobrinske, 78, Colona, are 10 AM Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1450 30th Avenue, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the Colona American Legion Post 1233 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or to Alzheimer's Research. Don went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 30, 1931 in Moline, the son of Bill and Mildred (Noonan) Dobrinske. Don graduated from Geneseo High School in 1949, and went on to the University of Illinois where he graduated with honors with a degree in Architectural Engineering. Don was a Korean War veteran, serving in the US Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He married Wanda Holland on December 25, 1955 in Colorado Springs, CO. He retired as an engineer from Deere & Co., Moline. Survivors include his wife Wanda, daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Brian VanDeWoestyne, Silvis, son Doug Dobrinske, Moline, and grandchildren; Lyndsie(Mike) Kerr, Moline, Bret VanDeWoestyne, Calie Dobrinske and Tayler Dobrinske, all of Silvis. He is preceded in death by his parents, and an infant daughter Nolia.
