Donald J. De Bo, 86, Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Funeral services are 10:30 AM Thursday at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Geneseo. Burial is in Northside Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Center for Belgian Culture, Moline or the American Cancer Society. Don was born August 22, 1931 in East Moline, the son of George and Mary (Leenknecht) De Bo. He married Mary Rose Lavery on November 30, 1957 in Geneseo. She died June 20, 1995. Don was a Mechanical Designer, retiring from AMETEK and later from Red Jacket. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Don was an avid player of Rolle Bolle and was a member of the Geneseo Rolle Bolle Club, Ex Servicemen's Club, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Center for Belgian Culture. Survivors include his children, Dan De Bo, East Moline, Mary Ellen (Brian) Flaherty, Rock Island, Denise De Bo, Chicago and Kathleen De Bo, Springfield, IL, grandsons Anthony and Michael Flaherty, Brothers, Robert (Ann) De Bo, Rock Island, Albert (Kathy) De Bo, Clinton, IA and George (Joanne) De Bo, Bayonet Pt., FL, special friend, Millie Kale and sister-in-law, Corinne. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene.
