Donald L. DePaepe, 68, East Moline, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Don was born October 8, 1943 in Moline, the son of Adolph and Helen (VandeVoorde) DePaepe. He attended Alleman High School and St. Ambrose College. He married Jayne R. Evans on April 16, 1966 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. He retired as an Industrial Specialist from the Rock Island Arsenal on March 31, 2005. He enjoyed fishing and yard work. He built model wooden ships. Don served as a Sgt. In the US Army National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Jayne, daughter and son-in-law Susan and Robert Dennis, Wauconda, IL grandchildren; Jacob and Brooke whom he truly enjoyed spending time with, and his mother Helen, East Moline.
