Funeral services for Donald E. Doye Jr., 78, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Doye died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Don was born October 20, 1935, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Donald E. and Alice Hotz Doye, Sr. He was a graduate of Sherrard High School, Class of 1953. He married Virginia Boggs July 28, 1956, in East Moline. She died February 12, 2000. He retired as a supervisor from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, in 1986, after 29 years of service. After retirement he had worked various jobs to keep busy. He had last worked at Mutual Wheel, Moline. Don enjoyed sports in general, and had been a Die Hard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Young, Rock Island, Cheryl (Tim) Frame, Bettendorf, IA, and Beth Ann (Robert) Ciesla, Schaumburg, IL; son, Steven (Susan) Doye, Moline; grandchildren, Darren Doye, Logan and Lauren Frame, Lindsay and Christopher Nowachek, Adam, Kaitlyn, and Jacklyn Young; sister, Joyce Stephens, Coal Valley, IL; and brother, William (Ginger) Doye, Kewanee. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother-in-law, Darwin Stephens; and nephew, James K. Stephens.
