Donald A. Griffin Sr., 75, Rock Island, died Saturday February 20, 2010 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. Graveside services are 11:30 AM Wednesday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Association. He was born January 27, 1935 in Rock Island, the son of William and Elizabeth (Horton) Griffin. He married Patricia Henricks on December 11, 1954 in Moline. She died June 7, 2000. Don retired as a heavy equipment operator for John Deere Harvester, East Moline. Mr. Griffin had served in the US Army Reserves. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his children and spouses; Donald and Karla Griffin II, Moline, Timothy Griffin, Rock Island, Kimberlee Griffin, Davenport and Terri and Kenneth Armstrong, Rock Island, eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a brother Bob Griffin, Rock Island, and sisters Lois Speaker, Aledo, IL and Helen Gibbs, Victoria, TX.
