Donald Lee Jacobs, 89, East Moline, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 after a battle with cancer. A public visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Friday, February 26th at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and respect social distancing. Private committal services will be held at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the American Cancer Society.

Don was born on October 9, 1931 in Moline, the son of Oral "Jake" and Caroline "Ma Jake" Jacobs. He graduated from UTHS. He served as a Staff Sergeant in Germany during the Korean War. He married Wanda Smith on May 19, 1951 in Moline. He was part owner of J&J music Co., Moline and had a long political career; Precinct Committeeman, East Moline Alderman, Rock Island County Auditor for 21 years, Rock Island County Finance Chairman and retired from Rock Island County. He was a member of the East Moline American Legion Post 227 and VFW Post 2153. Don enjoyed growing roses and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years, Wanda. Children; Diana (David) Kelley, East Moline, Lonnie (Barb) Jacobs, Rock Island, Tamara (Dick) Rogenski, Moline and Lorna (Joe) Moreno, East Moline, grandchildren; Shane, Shawna, Jason, Jared, Lindsey, Tara, Keri, Kylie, Anthony, Zachary, Michael, Stefnie and Ryan, 22 great grandchildren, siblings, Gloria Goebel, Silvis and Denny (Mary Ellen) Jacobs, East Moline and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Josh Jacobs.
