Funeral services for Donald L. Johnson, 73, East Moline, are 2PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is from 1PM until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project . Don died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Genesis West, Davenport. Don was born December 6, 1936 in Moline, the son of Ralph and Opal (Ferman) Johnson. He married Rosalie Vermeulen on November 26, 1960 in East Moline. He worked as a machinist at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, retiring in 1996. He was a US Army Veteran. Don enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Rosalie, children and spouses; Denise and Ted Coe, Bloomington, IL, Kevin Johnson of Tucson, AZ and Stephanie and Larry Reed of Cordova, IL, seven grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, sisters and brothers-in-law; Carol and Bill Williams, Hampton, IL, Barb and Kenny Wheeler, Hampton, and Phyllis and Ken Trommer, East Moline and a brother Dale (fiancée Dianna) Johnson, East Moline. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Larry and Richard.
