Funeral services for Donald A. Larson Sr., 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30 AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00PM. Mr. Larson died Friday, December 09, 2005 at Rosewood Health Care Center, Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, where he had been a member. Don was born April 20, 1921 in Moline, IL, the son of Arthur and Hazel (Meeds) Larson. He married Margaret State, June 13, 1953 in Colona, IL. She died October 14, 1994. He had served in the US Army during WWII. He had worked as a machinist for John Deere Harvester, East Moline, for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Chicago Cubs. He was an avid card player. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Lawrence LaCaille of Rock Island, IL, Lori and Timothy Tigges of East Moline, IL, Kimberly Larson and Brenda Gordon of Florence, AL, Diane and Don Clodfelter of Milan, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Deborah Larson Jr. of Davenport, IA, Ronald and Sherri Larson of Alsip, IL, Larry and Cheri DePaepe of Hennipen, IL; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren (and one on the way); sister, Phyllis Dawson of Wall, MS; niece, Maryanne Steffe of Eldridge, IA.
