Funeral services for Donald J. Morris, 77, of Port Byron, IL, will be 10:00 am Wednesday at Faith Walk Outreach Center, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Port Byron. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Mr. Morris died peacefully Saturday, October 3, 2015, at his home. Don was born July 17, 1938, in Fairfield, IA, the son of Albert and Etta Philips Morris Sr. He was a graduate of Sycamore High School. He married Linda Jacobs November 4, 1962, in Moline, IL. He retired as a pipefitter from Alcoa in 1998, after 37 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars, going to auctions, farming, raising bees and Simmental cows. He loved spoiling his cat, "Gracie". Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda Morris, Port Byron; daughters, Michelle Morris, Moline, Melissa Morris, Port Byron, and Brea (Kelly Boyer) Morris, Davenport, IA; sons, Stephen Morris, Moline, Mark Morris, East Moline, and Matt ( Amy) Morris, Silvis; grandchildren, Angel, Libby, Buddy, and Lidda; brothers, Albert Morris Jr., Muscatine, IA, and Jim Morris, Tipton, IA; He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth, brothers, Delbert and Bob.
