Obituary

Funeral services for Donald Eugene Nobiling, Moline, are 1PM Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the Moline American Legion Post 246 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 3-7PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Don was born September 19, 1931 in Rock Island, the son of Raymond and Gertrude (Jacoby) Nobiling. He graduated from Moline High School in 1949. He married Janice Fairley on August 3, 1957, and together they had 5 children. He later married Nancy Jane Stanford on January 14, 1993. She died July 7th, 2008. Don served in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1954. He had worked at various factories, was in home construction, an electrician and had done tax preparation. Mr. Nobiling was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Moline American Legion and the Moline VFW Post 2153. survivors include he children; Carolyn (Rick) Carss, East Moline, Susan (Jeff) Stevens, Colona, Nancy Nobiling, Des Moines, IA, Daniel (Elizabeth) Nobiling, Moline, and Donna Williams, Moline, grandchildren; Nathan, William, Douglas, Anthony, Sara, Michael, Amanda, Christina, Blaine and Brock, great granddaughters; Maya, Lilyan, Samantha and Talia, sister, Ann (James) Keevan, Moline, brothers Gerard (Joan) Nobiling, Oneonta, NY, and Joseph (Kathy) Nobiling, Moline, stepchildren; David (Jerleen), Linda(Randy) Mayns, Genoe, WI and Mark Stanford, Leesburg, FL, and step grandchildren; Elizabeth, Matthew, Ryanne, Jessica, Stephen and Austin.
