Funeral services for Donald W. Rylander, 74, of East Moline, IL, will be 6:00 pm Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 23rd in Erie Cemetery, Erie IL. Mr. Rylander died Friday, December 15, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Don was born March 16, 1943, in Moline, IL, the son of Robert and Sylvia Deeters Rylander. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Shirley (Dennis) Sherrell March 22, 1997, in East Moline. He was head inspector at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, retiring in 2015 after 52 years 5 months 18 days of service. Don was a hunter and a fisherman. He was an avid River Bandits Baseball fan and a follower of many professional wrestlers.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; children, Donald II, Kimberly, and Jefferey; grandchildren; step children, Larry (Sergio) Cross, Tewksbury, MA, Linda (Jerry) Mitchell, Moline, IL, Randy (Emily) Cross, German Valley, IL, and Waymon Sherrell, East Moline; 8 step grandchildren; 1 step great granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Rose Rylander, Colona and Martha Rylander.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James and Roger Rylander.
