Funeral services for Donald G. Veskauf, 81, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30 AM Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Veskauf died Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, IA. Don was born January 2, 1934, in Moline, IL, the son of Edward and Anna Ward Veskauf. He married Barbara Braucht September 12, 1953, at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. He had co-owned and operated Moline Welding, Moline, IL, for 43 years, retiring in 1996. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his wife, wintering in Florida, and he especially enjoyed family vacations in Door County, WI. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who doted on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Barbara Veskauf, East Moline; daughters, Linda (David) Stauffacher, East Moline, and Sherry (Daryl) Griffin, Moline; son, Dean (Jill) Veskauf, Morton, IL; grandchildren, Ryan Stauffacher, Laura (Rob) Galloway, Adam Bautista, Derek Griffin, Devan Griffin, Alaina (Ryan) White, and Drew Veskauf; great grandchildren, Ethan and Gavin Galloway, and Zoey White. He was preceded in death by parents; sister, LaVerne Swinburn; and brothers, Edward and Thomas Veskauf.
