Funeral services for Donald "Don" Young, 77, of East Moline, IL, will be Noon Tuesday at First Baptist Church, East Moline. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church. Committal services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in Confidence Cemetery, Wright Township, IA. Mr. Young died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his home. Memorials may be made to the family. Don was born November 23, 1934 in Wayne County, IA, the son of Arthur and Norma (Foster) Young. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Dorothy Seals December 30, 1956 in Mystic, IA. He retired from the John Deere Parts Distribution Center, Milan, IL, in 1991 after 26 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. In his last days he and his "granddog" Pepper became great buddies. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Young, East Moline; daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Green, Silvis, IL, sons, David (Vicky) Young, Independence, MO, Dwayne (Dorraine) Young, East Moline; daughter-in-law, Dana Mattly, Knoxville, IA, 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Kermit (Roma) Young, Seymour, IA.
