Heaven hit the jackpot on October 8, 2025, when Donna Hunt—our quick-witted, card-playing, puzzle-loving matriarch—passed away peacefully at the age of 90. The world may have lost a little sparkle, but heaven just got a whole lot more fun.

Born Donna DeBo on September 25, 1935, in East Moline, she was the daughter of Omer and Mary Verstreet DeBo. She married Bernie Kinkead, and later Robert Hunt, who preceded her in death in 2013. Donna retired from John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline.

She found joy in the little things—playing cards with friends, yard sale treasure hunts, and casino visits. She adored hosting her grandchildren on the farm, filling summer days with laughter, puzzles, and competitive rounds of Mexican Train, Phase 10, and Euchre. She loved watching Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, and keeping up with the news. To the very end, she remained both beautiful and delightfully ornery.

Donna is survived by her children Mark (Michelle) Kinkead, Debra Kinkead, Danny (Julie) Kinkead, and Teresa Magana; stepchildren Brad (Robi) Hunt and Jim (JoAnne) Hunt; son-in-law Michael Rederer; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brother Jim (Sharon) DeBo; and sister-in-law Jeanette DeBo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; brother Dick DeBo; and stepdaughter, Barb Rederer.

Her laughter and love live on in every family gathering and cherished memory.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 10, from 4–6 p.m. at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Funeral services follow Saturday at 10 a.m., with a luncheon to celebrate her life.
