Donna M. Nelson , 92, of Silvis, IL, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3rd, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Donna Marie McMillin was born October 9, 1932, in East Moline, Illinois, a daughter of Harry Sr. and Augusta (VanTieghem) McMillin. She married William "Bill" Nelson on October 27, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2024.

In earlier years, Donna worked at John Deere. Her heart belonged to her family. She first and foremost will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, homemaker, mom, grandma and "Gigi".

Donna was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, National Catholic Order of Foresters, Clara Lodge, No. 118, of the Moline Viking's Club and the East End Club, Moline. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals and more recently Indiana Fever fan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tami Nelson, East Moline; son and daughter-in-law, Todd (Deb) Nelson, Davenport, IA; and Terry (Madelyne) Nelson, LeClaire, IA; grandchildren: Ashley (Ben) Wright; and Nathan Nelson; great-grandchildren; Kyle and Izabel Wright; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Harry and Augusta; brothers, Arthur, Robert, Donald, Harry Jr., Joseph McMillin; and sister, Patricia Freymann.

We would also like to thank all the doctors, nurses and care technicians at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for all the wonderful care and compassion in taking care of Donna.
