Doris E. Davis, 78, formerly of East Moline, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, with her granddaughter at her side. Funeral services are 11AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is from 9AM until service time. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare, Milan. Doris Ullrick was born on June 9, 1934 in Cincinnati, IA, the daughter of Charles and Irma (Beard) Ullrick. She married Edward Davis on August 10, 1951 in East Moline. He died January 1, 2002. Doris had owned and operated the former Doris' Beauty Shop and later 10 ½ years at Donut Delite. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Doris was a proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her son Ricky L. Davis, Tuscon, AZ, grandchildren Doug Davis, Silvis, Darren Davis, Silvis and Jeni (Dale) Harris, Las Vegas, NV who refers to her grandmother as a special angel, great grandchildren, Paige, Preston, Slade, Dalton and Arian, and her sister, Louise (Orville) Thackery, Geneseo. She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. A special thank you to Tammy Davis, Kay Lawton and Illini Restorative Care for all of their care and compassion.
