Funeral services for Doris Harper, 94, of Silvis, IL, will be 10AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30. Mrs. Harper died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at St. Anthony Continuing Care Center, Rock Island. Doris Kurry was born May 31, 1920 in Moline, IL, the daughter of John and Jennie Bell Purcell Kurry. She married Lawrence Harper November 23, 1939 in East Moline. He died October 27, 1990. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing cribbage. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary for the Rock Island Lines and a member of the Ladies Elks. She had been an active member at St. Anne's, where she had been a member of the Altar Society and the School PTA. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Haesaert, Syracuse, NY, Gail (Craig) Bunge, Davenport, IA, and Chris (Marty) Griffin, Port Byron, IL; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and 1 great great granddaughter.
