Doris L. Lindley, 85, Milan, died Wednesday. August 7, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded. Doris Van Mechelen was born on September 20, 1927 in Rock Island County, the daughter of Arthur and Ethel (Hodson) Van Mechelen. She married Elmer E. Lindley November 18, 1950 in Burlington Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1986. Doris had worked in food service for the Taylor Ridge Schools. Survivors include her children, Mark Lindley, Rock Island, Gary (Patty) Lindley, Port Byron and Dawn Lindley, Milan, grandchildren Kayla Lindley and Jennifer Gonzales, great grandchildren, Logan, Aaron, L.J. and Sophera and a sister Louise. She is preceded in death by her husband, son Craig, sister Eleanor and brother Sonny and Walter.
