Funeral services for Doris E. Miller, 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Friday at the First Baptist Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mrs. Miller died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Doris was born June 18, 1924 in Brainerd, MN, the daughter of Robert and Esther (Wicklund) Swanson. She had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a rifle assembler, where she met her future husband. She married Robert E. Miller December 21, 1944 in Davenport, IA. He died October 2, 2008. Doris enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, camping, being a Winter Texan with Bob for 25 years, and most of all having her family around her. She will be missed dearly. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl Miller of Indianapolis, IN, Bonnie and John Van Houtte of Colona, IL, Cindy and Brian Hodson of Moline, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Pam Miller of Silvis; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Sherman and Arlene Swanson.
