Funeral services for Doris M. Scalf, 69 East Moline are 4 PM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is 1-4 PM Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family. Mrs. Scalf died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at her home. Doris Herren was born August 13, 1935 in Versailles, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Glenna (Root) Herren. She married Samuel Scalf, June 11, 1954 in Abingdon, IL. Doris had worked in food service at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, worked as head cook at United Township High School, East Moline, and most recently was an assistant teacher at Black Hawk Area Education Center. Doris is survived by her husband of 50 years, Sam, East Moline, daughter Krystal Stock, Homewood, IL, sons Daniel Scalf, Silvis and Ken Scalf, East Moline, fifteen grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Doris is also survived by 2 nieces and 2 nephews, Valorie Hoff, Anita Langfitt, Kyle Hendrickson and Chuck Hendrickson whom she raised. She is preceded in death by her son Sam and her parents.
