Funeral services for Dorothy O. Benson, 96, formerly of Moline, IL, will be 2:00PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Dorothy died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Aspen Health Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Dorothy Harper was born November 27, 1913 in Albia, IA, the daughter of Jess and Jessie Duncan Harper. She married Vaughn Benson November 26, 1936. He died in 1998. She had worked at the former Woolworth's Store and Huggins Variety in Moline. She had been a wonderful cook. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Diann Benson of East Moline; daughter-in-law, Marian Benson of Yellville, AR; grandchildren, Tami (Jody) Nagel, Theresa (Jamie) Evans, Cheryl (Jeff)Gollon, Steve (Michelle) Benson, Tim (Angel) Benson; 11 great grandchildren.
