Funeral services for Dorothy M Churchill, 81, Rock Island, formerly of Hampton and Moline, are 1:30PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Dorothy went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island. She was born January 20, 1929 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Arnold and Clara Rosenhagen Huberts. She married Michael Churchill on October 9, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He died February 12, 2010. Dorothy had worked as a waitress at the Sheraton Hotel, Rock Island and had been a housekeeper for families in the area. Dorothy enjoyed volunteering her time to worthy causes, playing bingo and liked to read. Survivors include her children and spouses: David and Vicki Churchill, Moline, Richard and Linda Churchill, Hampton, Jeffery Churchill, Moline and Linda and Waymon Sherrell, Colona, nine grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Theodore "Ted" and Carol Huberts, East Moline and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Mike, her parents and two brothers. The family would like to thank Trinity Hospice and the staff at the Fort Armstrong for their care and compassion.
