Obituary
Dorothy L. Coates, 84, Silvis, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Genesis Illini, Silvis. Funeral services are 12:30 PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd,. East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 11:30 AM until service time. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Dorothy was born March 25, 1933 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Claude and Mary (Sanders) Brown. She married Larry Coates in 1984 in Rock Island. He died in 2000. Dorothy was a loving mother who enjoyed playing shuffleboard and working in the garden. She also enjoyed doing home interior. Survivors include her children; Terry (Cliff) Blundy, East Moline and Tom (Laura) Hendricks, Silvis, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Larry, she was preceded in death by her son James Hendricks.
