Dorothy J. Dyer, 84, Moline, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline Funeral services are 12noon on Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is from 10 AM until service time. Entombment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Dorothy Nusbaum was born on March 29, 1932 in Streator, IL, the daughter of Alden and Marguerite (Davis) Nusbaum. She graduated from Rock Island High School. Dorothy had worked as an underwriter for Modern Woodman. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially attending their ball games. She also enjoyed teaching them to cook. Survivors include her children; Connie J. (Richard) Young, New Hudson, MI, and Randall R. Dyer, Rock Island, daughter-in-law, Lin Skiles, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her sister, Marilyn Taets, Moline. She was preceded in death by brothers Donald and Robert Nusbaum, sister, Donna Freeburg, and great grandchildren, Christian Johnson and Suzanne Johnson.
