Memorial services for Dorothy J. Harmening, 92, of East Moline, IL, will be 11AM Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Monday, January 26, 2026, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Private burial services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery. Mrs. Harmening passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at Unity Point Medical Rock Island.

Dorothy Jeanette Sullivan was born February 17, 1933, in Rock Island, the daughter of W.Alfred and Ruth T. Pealstrom Sullivan. She married Donald W. Harmening January 18, 1958, at First Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Don passed away February 17, 2016.

Dorothy was an avid bowler, loved boating and fishing.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and any other craft idea she could come up with.  Most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Diane "Rusty" Harmening, East Moline, Dana Beachler, Colona, Daniel "Buck" Harmening Davenport, IA; daughter-in-law, Marilee Harmening, East Moline; ( 8) grandchildren: Ian & Brooke, Racheal, Jaimie, Alicia & Korey, Amanda, Anna, Regina, Jake & Cassondra; ( 7) great grandchildren Tucker, Gunner, Gwen, Jalen, Kylo, Thomas, Juniper, Emmett, Phinias, McKenna and another on the way; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Darrell Harmening; son-in-law, Thomas Beachler, and granddaughter Audrey.

Memorials may be made to the family for distribution to various organizations.
