Funeral services for Dorothy Katrana Ionides, 89, of East Moline, IL, will be 11:00 AM Saturday at The First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Mrs. Ionides died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to Aspen Activity Fund or The First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Dorothy Katrana was born January 11, 1918 in Moline, IL, the daughter of John and Madeline (Olson) Katrana. She married Harry Ionides November 10, 1946 in Moline, IL. He died April 9, 1971. She had worked with her husband at their restaurant, The Eating Post. Later she had worked many years for the East Moline Schools as a crossing guard. She was a talented pianist. She volunteered for many years as a Sunday School Teacher at First Presbyterian Church and for Meals on Wheels. She had been a member of the Eastern Star, East Moline. She attended In-Touch. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, and attending activities at Aspen Health Care. She loved her family, especially spending time with her great-grandson, Will. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Madeline and Mike Morrell of Coal Valley, IL; granddaughters and spouses, Jennifer and Ed Welty of Grays Lake, IL, Christina and Tracey Adair of East Moline, great-grandson "Will" Welty. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Nick Katrana. The family would like to thank Genesis Hospice for their excellent care.
