Funeral services for Dorothy B. Malmstrom, 94, Silvis, are 10 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 4:30-7PM Friday(today) at the funeral home. Dorothy passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at her home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Dorothy Meek was born April 12, 1916, in Avery, WI. She married Oscar Malmstrom on August 31, 1934 in Chicago. He died July 4, 1990. Dorothy had worked at the former Buddy L Toy Factory in East Moline and at Illini Hospital, Silvis, but much preferred being a wife and mother. She was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law; JoAnne Hantz, Detroit, MI, Geraldine and Jim Graham, Hampton, Karen and Paul Cooprider, Geneseo, IL and Debbie and Andy Berglund, East Moline, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a special friend Donnalee Tuttle. She is preceded in death by her husband and sisters; Winifred Hensley, and Luella Russell.
