Funeral services for Dorothy L McCormick, 78, Colona, are 10AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday (Today) at the funeral home. Mrs. McCormick died Tuesday, September 19, 2007 at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf. A memorial fund has been established. Dorothy Johnson was born May 30, 1929 in South Dakota, the daughter of Thomas and Martha (Arnson) Johnson. She married Charles McCormick on August 10, 1950 in Rock Island. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley for 17 years, retiring in 1985, and had worked at Happy Haven Nursing Home for 8 years. Dorothy has a special place in her heart for animals. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Charles, children and spouses; Richard and Frances McCormick of Barstow, Jeffery and Brenda McCormick, Colona, Linda and Thomas Littlefield, Albuquerque, NM, Cindy and Mick Painter of Colona, Margaret Gardner, LeClaire, IA and Nancy Ludwig, Marietta, IL, grandchildren; Daryl, Melissa, Charles, Michelle, April, Joshua, Jeremy, Chase and Jared, great grandchildren; Josh, Shayna, Jasmine, Katlyn, Alisha, Dylan, Selena and Kyle and a sister Ann Woeckner, Moline. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Marjory McCormick, a granddaughter Nicole Segler and an infant grandson.
