Dorothy E. O'Donnell, 84, of Hampton, passed away Monday October 19, 2020 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis. Graveside services will be held 10AM Wednesday October 28, 2020 at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service, must meet at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 6th St., East Moline by 9:30AM for the processional to the cemetery. A visitation will be on Tuesday October 27 from 3-5PM at the Van Hoe Funeral Home where memorials may be made to Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline. Dorothy was born August 8, 1936 in Ottumwa, IA, a daughter of Russell and Rosetta Katherine (Morgan) Hoffman. She married Gerald "Jerry" O'Donnell on April 16, 1966 in Rock Island. He survives. Also surviving are her children: Donna (Pat) Cothron, East Moline, Candy (Gary) Van Coillie of Rock Island, and Kimberly (Yazdan) Irani of Eden, UT; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Wiegand, and a brother, Paul Hoffman. Dorothy was most recently employed as a bartender at Short Hills County Club in East Moline. In her younger years, she had been a singer with the Dottie Da Trio. She loved spending time with her grandkids and shopping. Although she was known for her feistiness, she was greatly loved.
