Dorothy Faye Phillips, 87, formerly of Silvis IL, entered Heaven's gates on Thursday, September 29, 2016. She was surrounded by her family in Hamilton, Alabama. Funeral services will be at 2PM on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Dorothy was born September 8, 1929 to Lewis & Jessie (Estes) Kilgore in Cleveland, Mississippi. On March 30, 1958, Dorothy married Edward Phillips. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2008. Dorothy worked for the East Moline School District 37 as a custodian, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Barnesville Free Will Baptist Church in Hamilton, Alabama. She enjoyed crocheting slippers and baby blankets, as well as doing crossword puzzles, playing games and spending time with her family. Survivors include her son, Stephen (Sandy) Phillips, Hamilton AL; grandchildren: Adriane Morris, Marcus Phillips, Connie (Nick) George; great-grandchildren: Sara Beth, Emma & McKenna George. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sandra Rivera, a brother and a sister.
